SESSION
Hydrogen transport. A new opening? Where are we and what do we need? How do we build an ecosystem so that hydrogen mobility can thrive?

Transport is both a key element in the development of the economy and one of the largest contributors to CO2 emissions. It contributes around 5% to the EU's GDP and employs more than 10 million people in Europe. At the same time, transport emissions account for around 25 per cent of the EU's total greenhouse gas emissions.

As part of the Green Deal, the EU wants to be the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 and this goal requires a 90% reduction in transport-related emissions by 2050. To achieve this, it is necessary to make freight transport in the EU more efficient and sustainable. One solution could be the widespread use of hydrogen as a transport fuel. During the discussion, we want to talk about where we are now and what action is needed to make hydrogen-based transport develop further.
